Open Deploy > Softphone. The available source list and readiness messages determine which modes can place calls.

Direct SIP

Direct browser calls currently require a Twilio SIP trunk source. A SIP number from a different provider is not enough to make this mode ready.
  1. Choose Direct SIP in Call Mode.
  2. Select a ready Source SIP Number.
  3. Enter an international destination number using the keypad or number field.
  4. Review Enable Recording, then start the call when you intend to contact that destination.
  5. Use Hang up to end the direct browser call. The keypad can send tones on an active direct call.
Allow microphone access when the browser requests it. If initialization times out, read the connection error and check the SIP source before retrying.

AI Agent mode

Choose AI Agent (ElevenLabs SIP) to initiate an outbound call using the agent already assigned to an eligible active ElevenLabs SIP source number. Configure the number’s agent assignment before using Softphone; the page does not provide an arbitrary agent or fallback-agent selector. That mode uses Premium AI via SIP in the agent’s Voice Provider configuration. Realtime AI via SIP is Inbound Only and does not enable outbound Softphone calls. The Softphone mode label and the AI Agents provider label describe different controls. Unavailable sources are disabled with a readiness reason. Assign a compatible agent or complete the trunk/number configuration indicated by that reason. Do not assume all SIP engines support browser direct calls or AI Agent mode. Recent call records link to Call Logs. Review recording availability there; enabling recording does not substitute for confirming provider support and the saved result.
