Chat Agents provide text conversations through a separate website chat widget. The feature is labeled Alpha. Its widget count shares the account’s combined website-widget allowance; use the remaining limit shown in the application.

Create and configure

  1. Open Configure > Chat Agents and click Create Chat Agent.
  2. The new agent starts as Draft. Open Behavior to set its name, description, model, welcome message, response language, system prompt, and input placeholder.
  3. Optionally select a prompt template, then review the resulting instructions.
  4. In Knowledge, select existing Knowledge Base items.
  5. Click Save Changes before starting Test Chat. Tests use the saved model, prompt, and knowledge assignments and consume credits.
The status selector supports Draft, Active, and Offline (the paused state). Use Active when preparing the public widget for visitors. Model availability is loaded for your account; do not copy a model name from a voice agent into the chat configuration.

Integrations

The Integrations tab allows action assignments when integrations are available to your account. Save these with Save integration permissions. During Alpha, only reviewed read actions can execute; selecting a different action does not make it available. See Integrations for connection and permission requirements.

Configure the website widget

In Widget, configure the icon, brand name, launcher text, colors, allowed domains, and optional business hours and timezone. White-label branding follows your account’s current entitlement. Optional Lead Capture collects visitor details into a linked lead. Appointment Booking exposes booking in the chat widget and uses the workspace’s appointment availability checks. Configure and inspect these records in Leads and Appointments.
  1. Save the settings and set the agent to Active.
  2. Choose Generate Embed Code, then Copy Embed Code.
  3. Install the generated snippet on the website where you want chat to load.
  4. Verify the saved domain and business-hour restrictions match that website.
Refresh Code fetches the embed snippet again; it is not a documented token-revocation control. Keep the generated snippet intact and avoid placing account credentials in website code.

Review conversations

Choose View Chat Logs to open conversations filtered to this agent. Chat Logs separates Test and Live sessions, shows usage and captured events, and opens the saved message history. There is no Analytics tab in the current chat-agent editor. Chat Agent widgets and Web Widgets have separate runtimes: the former provides text chat; the latter provides browser voice.
