SIP requires the SIP Engine feature to be enabled, SIP access on your plan, and permission to use the selected engine. Access is configured per plan; a plan name alone does not establish eligibility. Ask your administrator or support if the page offers an upgrade or shows no available engines.
Choosing an Engine
Only engines allowed for your account appear in the selector. Realtime AI via SIP also requires administrator configuration. It does not support outbound calling; do not treat it as interchangeable with Premium AI via SIP. Model availability is controlled separately from the SIP engine.
Adding a SIP Trunk
- Go to Deploy > SIP Trunks and open My Trunks.
- Click Add SIP Trunk.
- Enter a name and select an available engine and SIP provider. Use Generic SIP for an appropriate custom endpoint.
- Enter the provider’s SIP host, port, transport, and required authentication credentials. Review inbound settings separately when your provider uses different inbound and outbound transports or ports.
- Save the trunk, then use the origination instructions displayed in the page to configure inbound routing with your provider.
- Open Phone Numbers within SIP Trunks and add the numbers that belong to the trunk. Configure supported call directions and assign a compatible agent where needed.
